I Really Must Blog More!

So I haven't blogged in over a month and I feel a little bad about it. I mean I know not that many people follow our blog but I use it more for documenting things in Kelbie's life. So since the last blog post, Kelbie is yet another month older, moving everywhere and has been on her first vacation.

Kelbie celebrated her 1st 4th of July by falling out the back door and scratching up her right eye. It was nice and swollen for about a day. It did freak me out just a little but after a few phone calls I decided it wasn't worth a trip to the ER.  A few days after that we headed out on her 1st vacation to Nashville with my family. James had to stay home and work so he didn't get to go with us this time. We saw a lot of cool things while we were up there. Nashville Zoo, Graceland, Opry Land and Country Music Hall of Fame. It was a good trip but I was ready to be home.

As mobile as my child is I have yet to completely baby proof the house. We have put plug covers on, put gates up here and there (I usually don't remember to put them up), and I do my best to keep everything off the floor that she should have. She is crawling everywhere and love to pull up on everything. As of just a couple of days ago she has decided to stand by herself for more then a few seconds. I am excited about that because walking will be coming next. I know I might sound crazy because I want her to walk but I just think it will make my life a lot easier if I am not having to carry her everywhere, but it does also mean that she really isn't a baby anymore.

She has tried all kinds of new foods and loves just about everything that you give her. She has moved up to stage 3 baby foods for dinner and still eats the stage 2 veggies and fruits. She loves carbs which I feel might be a problem. Her favorite things these days are blueberries and kiwi. I never thought she would love them as much as she does. She still loves strawberries, banana (sometimes), bread, oranges, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, yogurt, any kind of baby snacks, pasta, apples, zucchini, etc. What can I say my child loves to eat.

Now that she is almost 10 months birthday planning is in full swing. We, well really me, have decided that her party will be Zebra and Pink. My mom and I are making pretty much everything. Invitations, Birthday Hats, her outfit. We even thought about making her cake but then couldn't find a time that worked for both of us to take a class. I found an awesome lady to do her cake for me though. We are having her party at our house on October 8th. I really hope it turns out to be as good as I see it in my head. I mean I know she isn't going to ever remember any of this and it is probably more for me then her, but I still want it to be perfect.

In other news, James has been working crazy overtime this summer and I feel that we never get to see him. I usually get to see him at night when he comes home but Kelbie is already in bed. As much as I love the overtime checks I am ready for him to be back working normal hours so we can actually have some family time. We have planned a trip to Kansas in September which I am kinda excited about. It will be the first time his family has meet Kelbie.

For those who didn't know Kelbie will be getting 2 new cousins this Fall. James's sister Mollie is due to have a girl Kiara Mary Jane on October 11 (Yep Kelbie's Birthday) and my sister-in-law Shannon is also having a girl Trystan Grace on or around December 1st. Needless to say Kelbie will have some girls to play with and all her baby clothes that no longer fit have found a new home for now with Shannon.

As for me I am still working, working, working. Story of James's and I's life. Love being with the kids but sometimes I miss my Kelbie. I will hopefully post some pictures here in the next few days as our computer has died and we have yet to buy a new one so I have to use my mom's or brother's computer to update anything.
