July 4th

We spent July 4th out in Sienna this year. We did hot dogs and the kids got to play before going to see fireworks. I am glad we got to go since I was almost positive we were going to be having a baby by then but Jaxon decided to wait it out. Here are a few pictures from the day. Kelbie liked the fireworks but wasn't to sure about the loud noise so she ended up sitting in the car with James which apparently made it better.

Jaxon Charles

Well I can't upload photos for one reason, but I thought I would share Jaxon's birth story.

After thinking he might actually come on his own early he decided to be stubborn like his sister and we scheduled an induction for July 11th. We were scheduled for 7am but of course if there isn't a bed you get pushed back. That a exactly what happened to us. The hospital called me at 5:30am to tell me that they didnt have a bed and if I hadn't heard from them by 8am to call back. Needless to say that was the longest wait ever. I hadn't heard from them so I called and was told to call back in 2 hours. I really didn't think the induction was going to happen that day and was a little bummed. About 15 minutes later thy called me to come in.

We got there a little before 9am and after answering all their questions and getting situated, they finally started all the fluids and pitocin around 9:45am. I was positive this was going to be an all day event so I made myself as comfy as I could. I was having minimal contractions when we got there but it didn't take long for them to intensify. Our nurse was really cool and apparently works with my doctor a lot because she was texting her throughout the whole thing. My doctor told me I could get an epidural whenever I wanted and that she would be in around lunch to break my water. I was determined to hold out as long as I could for the epidural because I wanted to experience labor since I didn't with Kelbie.

At about 1pm I decided I should get the epidural and as soon as the nurse left to get the stuff needed my water broke. That was one of the weirdest feelings ever. Got the epidural about 15 minutes later and then my doctor came in. She was impressed that my water had already broke so it made her stop quite easy. She didn't check me but told the nurse to when she put in the monitor and catheter. When she finally did all that I was a 6. I was only a 1 when I went in. I was still convinced that it was going take awhile so I told my family not to come up yet since there was no need or them to just be sitting in the waiting room. Luckily they decided to come anyway because it went super fast from there.

At about 3:30pm I could feel bad cramping on my left side and the nurse checked me and told me it was time to start pushing. She didn't want to up my epidural until she saw how long pushing was going take ( took 1.5 hours with Kelbie). She informed my doctor and had me start pushing. It went pretty fast from that point. I would say maybe 7-10 pushes before she decided to call my doctor to come over. She almost delivered him herself because when she came back he was starting to crown, so she had me close my legs and breath through the contractions until my doctor got there ( her office is right across the parking lot).  She came in, along with all the other people and within about 4 pushes he was here. Born at 4:19pm 9lbs 3oz 21in.

Much easier and faster delivery then I expected. He is such a cutie and I am so happy he is finally here. Now we are just trying to get into a routine and get used to 2 kids instead of one.

July 11th

Baby Jaxon is just as stubborn as his sister and doesn't want to come on his own so we are scheduling an induction for the 11th. Looks like both of my kids with have an 11th birthday. I am so ready to meet him and the 11th can not come soon enough. There is still a small chance he will come on his own but I am not holding my breath on it.

I am finding things to keep myself busy until then. Cleaning the house, laundry, playing with Kelbie, etc. I plan on doing something fun with Kelbie the day before and she will be staying with my parents that night so James and I will hopefully get one more date night in. I feel I should be writing more but my brain is in overload and my anxiety is getting the better of me on most days so I will catch up on blogging after Jaxon is born.

Positive thoughts and prayers as we approach the day and become a family of 4. I will post his birth story and everything on Facebook as well as on here. Until next time!!!
