Play Dates

So being only 3 weeks old, you wouldn't think Kelbie would have any friends yet, but she lucked out and has 2 little friends thanks to two of my friends having babies right around the sametime.  We have had a playdate with both of them and can't wait for them to get a little bit bigger so they can really have a play date.

This is her first play date with Adelyn who is 1 month and 3 days older then her.

Her second playdate was with Nnala who is 8 days younger then her.

I am almost positve that they will be very good friends as they grow up. Hopefully we can get Adelyn and Nnala to meet so they can also be friends.

2 Weeks

So Kelbie is almost 2 weeks old. I can't believe how fast the time is flying. I  still remember every detail of the day  she  was  born. We have been  adjust pretty well here at home. James was off the whole week that she was born which was great because I was still in a lot of pain. Once he went back to work it  was just me and Kelbie and she has been doing pretty well. She  sleeps alot during  the day which makes our night a little harder but  we  will get her on a schedule here in the next couple of weeks. The dogs have adjusted very well too. They were my biggest  concern with bringing her home and they have done great.

Kelbie had her 1st Pediatrician appointment the Friday after we left the hospital and everything was looking good. She had lost a little bit more weight but nothing that they were concerned about. Her doctor also gave us a recommendation for a ENT at Texas Children's for her ear. After trying to get in  touch with them for a few days we finally got her an appointment for Thursday the 28th. I am hoping for all good things when we go to this  appointment. Whatever  they tell us I will handle because in my eyes she is perfect and there is nothing we can't work out.

James is back and work and I think he is glad that  he is out of the house for a few hours  a day. He loves being with her but sometimes he gets  frustrated and needs a break. That is why I am home  with her  and up most nights. I am loving  staying at  home, but very ready to get back to work. I love her to death but  I am not the type of person who can  stay  home all the time. I know it is going to be hard to leave her the 1st day back at  work, but a very good friend of mine will be watching her so I know she is well taken care of.

All of the people I knew that were having babies in October and November have had their beautiful healthy baby  girls. Some of them were earlier then most but that  is okay. Congrats to everyone!  Kelbie sure will have a few good friends right around her age to play with.

Here are  her friends and their birthdays:

Adelyn Ruth Fallon: 9/8/10
Kelbie Cheyenne: 10/11/10
Bryce Meadow:  10/14/10 (born on  her actual due date)
Nnala: 10/19/10

(Yes Kelbie was the biggest of all the babies)

My sister-in-laws friend Rachel also had her twins on 10/21/10 Hailey and Hannah!

Well off to take care of some house things while Kelbie and James are sleeping then out to  run errands a little later once everyone is up and moving.

Here are a few pictures from over the last 2 weeks!

Introducing...

Kelbie Cheyenne Willyard
was born October 11, 2010 at 11:24pm. She weighted 9lbs 11oz and 20.5 in. long. She is absolutely perfect and healthy. Her right ear did not fully develop right so we will be talking to the Pediatrician here at the hospital today to see what our options are.

We went into the hospital at 7:30 am to be induced. The process wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. I was hooked up to the iv and medicine by 8. At around 1pm my doctor came into break my water in hopes of speeding things up. Needless to say it didn't. I was still 1cm dilated and my cervix was still rather hard. My doctor had another doctor come in at around 4pm to make sure all of the water in my bag was out and while he was doing just a normal exam my water completely broke. That was a good thing. Shortly after that my Doctor had them start the Epidural because it can speed up labor. It worked for me. By 7pm I had dilated to a 5 and my cervix was completely thinned out. About 20 mins later I could feel every contraction I was having and was in horrible pain and the medicine for the Epidural wasn't working, so they decided to redo the Epidural and it defiantly worked that time. By 9pm I was dilated to a 9 and everything went so fast from there. I started pushing at about 10pm and I thought she would come out pretty fast but she waited until she was ready and the doctor was there. I was then again feeling my contractions so basically I got to experience delivering such a big baby basically being able to feel a lot of what was going on.

I knew she was going to be a big baby but I was shocked when they told me how big she really was. I couldn't believe that I was able to deliver such a big baby naturally. It was a weird feeling when they pulled her body out. Kinda felt alien like. It then took almost an hour to get me cleaned up and everything. Even my Doctor said that was the biggest baby she had delivered without a C-section. Needless to say it was a very long day and James and I have not slept much, but it was a very amazing day in all. Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers that you sent our way yesterday

Monday, Monday, Monday!

Well still no real change. I am being put on the Induction list for Monday but I could very easily get bumped to a later time or day depending on the situation of other patients. I have had a healthy pregnancy and Kelbie is healthy so that means we get pushed over other people. I am okay with that but I think James was hoping she would come on her own before Monday. We will just have to see. So it looks like Monday is the day unless things change. The nurse is supposed to call me later today with the details. So keep us  in your prayers as we go into all of this hopefully on Monday!
