Happy New Year

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010.

I am expecting great things to happen this year. While most people will be out having a good time and drinking tonight, James and I will be doing our normal thing which is hanging out at the house watching movies. We might go to family game night at my parents, but we are not sure yet. Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year.

8 Months

So I am a few days late on this but better late then never. Christmas Day marked our 8 months of beinging married. It is amazing how time flies. I can't believe it has already been that long. It really does seem like it was just yesterday. We have already started thinking about our 1 year anniversary trip. We can't seem to agree on where to go as we dont want to take to much time off work nor can we really since we are using our vaction days in May to go to New York. I was thinking something like San Antonio, Austin or Dallas as that is drivable and can fit into our budget. Although I would really like to go some place like VEGAS! Any tips on where a good place to go would be that wont totally wipe us out but is still fun? We still have a few months to plan, but I am always open for suggestions.  Hope everyone is getting ready for the New Year. Its almost 2010. That is crazy. Time really is flying by these days.

Expensive Airfare

So James and I are trying to book our flight up to New York for Vicki & Adam's wedding and everything is  so expesive. I have flown up there by myself a few times and the prices were okay, but this time I am having to include a hotel, food, their wedding gift and whatever else we might need money for. It is becoming quite stressful in the fact that  I feel like all the airlines are jacking up their rates. If you have any helpful hints please send them my way as I need to book here in the next couple of weeks before the prices get worse.

Merry Christmas

Christmas was very good this year. We spent Christmas Eve with my family. We went to church at Houston Baptist then heading back to my parents house to eat and open gifts. Brayden opened his gifts while dinner was warming up and made it about half way through dinner before he was ready to go to bed. After dinner the adults got to open all of ours up.
James ended up getting golf balls, a golfing coin game for the golf course, sports athority giftcard, movies, wii nunchucks and a shirt from my family. I gave him another shirt, some nice shoes and The Hangover. His stocking stuffers were pretty good too... Tobacco, boxers, candy and nuttybutter bars.
I got a I Love Lucy blanket, some movies, boots, clothes and the best gift of all TAYLOR SWIFT TICKETS (thank you D & S) from my family. James got me a jacket, jeans, some shirts and a cross necklace. Stocking stuffers for me were... candy, The Ugly Truth, stationary, and a new phone charger.
Christmas was really good this year and I am looking forward to the concert May 25th with my brother.

On Christmas day we went back over to my parents house for breakfast and to open the gifts they got the animals. Jersey got a new bed for her cage, Lizzie got a car hammock to keep them in the back seat when they are in the car with us, and Indiana got some cat litter. Nothing to exciting and that will not be something that continues next year.  After breakfast we went to see Alvin and the Chipmuncks the Squeakual. Good movie. I still think the first one was better but I will probably by the second one when it is out on video. They we headed back to my parents house to hang out and we ended up watching on of my dad's Dale Earnhart collector movies that he got for Christmas. It was pretty good.

Now we are finally home and watching some of our movies we got and try to make since off all the stuff everywhere. Tomorrow we will be  taking down the decorations and starting to organize for the move in April since I am off I am going to start organizing and putting things together in crats that we dont use. I know its early, but I will not have time come March when all the packing will need to be done.

Hope everyone had an AWESOME Christmas. I look forward to reading about them later one.

Tis The Season

So I attend our Little Gym party last Friday and it was pretty good. It was nice to be able to hang out with everyone and see a few of the people I don't normally work with. Our boss took us out to eat at Corellis and then gave us some gifts. I got a Little Gym sweatshirt and a $50 Amex gift card. It was a nice couple of hours.

We had James's Christmas party the next night at the Houston Zoo. I was expecting the party to be pretty awesome as they usually are through his company, but I have to say this year I was disappointed. They had the party in the  Nautural Encounters exhibit and they brought out some of the animals throughout the night and then we got to have a private Sea Lion show. The food consisted of sandwiches and drinks. I mean it was awful, but defenitly expected more from his company. Maybe next years will be better.

Christmas in 3 days away, well 2 for us as we are doing Christmas on Christmas Eve this year. I am looking forward to just hanging out and seeing what everyone gets for presents. I am expecially excited for Brayden to open his gifts. He seems to be overwhelmed everytime there are a bunch of gifts for him at once. Almost like it is to much to take in at once. There will be a post after Christmas detailing the day.

Well off to watch Night at the Museam- Battle of the Smithstonian with James. Everyone be safe and have a good Christmas.

Christmas Time

Christmas is only 10 days away. I only have 3.5 more days off work then I am off for a whole two weeks. That will be nice to not have to do anything at all. I am pretty sure I will be helping my mom go through boxes at her house. Old things of mine and who knows what else. We have our Little Gym Christmas party on Friday so that should be fun and then James's company party is supposed to be Saturday at the Houston Zoo. I am not sure if we are going to that one yet, but if we do I will post pictures because their parties are usually very good. Well off to get ready to babysit Brayden and then work at LG. More Christmas posts to come.

Christmas Presents

I think this year I set a  new record for being done with Christmas shopping. It is December 4th and I am done. I am just waiting on a few things to come in the mail, then to wrap them and then I am completely done. I did most of my shopping today. I must say unlike most other years before, this Christmas is a small on for us. Since I am no longer nannying and just working part-time, our financial situation is not what it was last year. In all reality it is not the gifts that matter on Christmas but it is family, so everyone is just getting two simple gifts from us and hopefully next year we can be back to our normal spending limit at Christmas. James got his Christmas gift a few months ago, so he has only one lonely present under the tree, but I might go find a few other little inexpensive things for him. I am interested to see what he gets me as this will be the first year he is completely on his own. Usually I either tell him what I want or I get it myself. Example last year, he only got my stocking stuffers and they were very practical, but not something I would have chosen as a stocking stuffer, but that is okay. He is not the shopping type. So James with some cash and a mall should make for some interesting gifts from me this year.

I am looking forward to spending Christmas with the family again this year and seeing how excited Brayden gets opening his presents, even thought he still doens't full understand what is going on and why he is getting presents. I will also be attending my first Little Gym Christmas Party in two weeks. Nothing too fancy just dinner with all the staff and then the owner gives us our Christmas gifts. James's work party should be fun though... They always are, even though I missed last years I am for sure going to be attending this years.

Christmas cards will be in the mail tomorrow, so if you are normally on our mailing list keep your eyes out. I think they turned out very cute this year. We have Josh on them with us this time.

Post more later

New House

April 1st is going to be a big day for us. We are going to be moving into the house I grew up in. Our lease is up where we are at now in January and we were going to starting looking for houses to least, but when we were in Kansas, my mom called to tell me that our old house would be open as of April 1st. I am so excited. There have been renters in the house for many years now and I have always loved that house. So now they are moving out and we are moving in. We couldn't be more excited... MOre square footage, a backyard for the dogs and a place that we can really call our own. Just wanted to share the news because we are very excited to acutally have a house here in the next couple of months. Starting in probably March we will get to go in and do some repairs (mostly outside) and hopfully get to start painting a little bit. Of course this all depends on when the renters that are there now get things together at the house they are moving into. I will keep everyone posted as we know more. But yay for being in a house finally!

Kansas

So our Kansas trip was a success with only a little drama. We got to spend a lot of time with James's family and of course Joshua. He is always so excited when we get tocome up there, but leaving him is so hard. He gets so upset and it breaks our hearts. We spent Thanksgiving up there which was nice. It was a little weird for me not being in Houston with my family, as I have been for the last 23 years, but I really did love being up in Kansas. It is a totally different world up there compared to what I am used to down here. I love his family up there as well. We spent almost the whole time with his family and we got to take some awesome family photos up at Pomona Lake.. Thanks Uncle Paul and Aunt Mel. Over all it was a really great trip and I am already looking forward to seeing Joshua and the rest of the family again. If only I knew when that was going to happen.

On another note, while we were gone Jersey got spayed and everything went well. She was apparently up and ready to play not long after surgery, not that that surprises me at all. She never runs out of energy. She is healing well and acting just like normal. She did get a small infection from the  surgery so she is taking a few meds for a couple of days in hopes of clearing it all up.

I am now only working at the Little Gym part time. I decided to quit the nanny thing, so things are a little different right now. I am not used to having my days off. Kinda sucks that I made this decision right before Christmas, but everything will work out. I am looking forward to starting full time January 18th. Plus Brayden is going to be taking a class there and I think he is really going to enjoy it.

Well I am off to watch some tv and head to bed. I hate that James is  now working the night shift for a week or so, but things sure our quiet around here. I will post some pictures from Kansas probably tomorrow, so check back and if you want to see some of the family photos you can check them out on my facebook. I am still waiting to get all the other ones from Uncle Paul.
