Yes Please....

A totally random post but I really want to do my nails like this is spirit for summer. I think it is totally cute and I am strongly considering taking this picture to the nail salon and asking them to do it for me.

Summer

Summer is only a few short days away and I couldn't be more excited. This will be my first summer that I haven't worked since I was in school. I am looking forward to spending time with Kelbie and getting her ready for Pre-School. I do still need to find a place for her on the days she isn't in school. This is my challenge over the summer. I haven't planned much for us to do but I am hoping that Pinterest will be my lifesaver on activities. We are going to Colorado at the end of June, so that will be a fun little getaway with my parents. James wont be able to go but Kelbie will enjoy spending time with Nana and Granddaddy.

Here is a list of a some things I want to do over the summer. Remember its the first summer I have had off in a long time and I plan to take full advantage of it even with a little one and most of the things are for her anyway...

- GET A TAN (this is a must before I come back to work)
- Spend a ton of time at the pool
- Go to the Children's Museum
- Get Kelbie taking (starting with a new speech lady Monday)
- Go to the Zoo
- Have play dates with friends we don't see much
- Finger Paint
- Create a new art project every week that Kelbie can display in her playroom
- Work on nap and schedule transition for Pre School
- POTTY TRAIN!!!!!!
- Paint Kelbie's bathroom and laundry room
- Hang out with Brayden & Trystan (I feel like a bad Aunt because I never see them)
- Save all James's overtime money and put it towards a good cause
- Take Kelbie to the beach, she has never been
- Go to Schlitterbahn
- Get at least one date night in with James, Kelbie free, with his busy schedule
- ENJOY MY TIME WITH KELBIE AS SHE IS GROWING SO FAST

So as you can see I have a ton of things in my mind that I want to do and I hope that we are able to do them all. I know it is going to be so miserable this summer, but if we do things early it hopefully wont be to bad.

Here is what I call our first picture of summer, even though it doesn't really start for me until Friday at 3:30pm. This is a picture of Kelbie on her first day of Survival Swim, which I will post about later.

Not the best picture, but this is her learning how to float.

Ten on Tuesday!

1. What is your favorite Pixar movie? Have you seen all of them?
I have seen alot of them and I usually confuse them with Disney movies. To be honest I like pretty much every movie. I can't think of one that I didn't like.

2. Do you enjoy soccer?
I guess, I haven't actually watched a game in a long time. I prefer football or baseball over soccer though

3. Are you musical?
Not really. I used to be in band but I don't even think I could play my instrument anymore. It wasn't my favorite thing to do but it got my out of PE in school.

4. How many push-ups can you do?
Maybe 5. I haven't done push-ups much less much of any exercise in awhile. My arms never have been very strong. :(

5. Did you have braces when you were younger?
Yep pretty much most of middle school. Wasn't too bad though. Everyone used to want braces.

6. Summer or winter? Coffee or tea? Wedges or flats?
Summer I guess because I am off work and I can work on a tan (which I am in desperate need of), I like both coffee and tea. It kind just depends on my mood. Flats for sure. I walk so much better in flats.

7. Do you buy new or used cars?
Used at the moment. I hope one day to buy a brand new car. I have been looking at things I like but I don't see a money tree growing in my backyard so buying a new car probably wont happen until my current one dies.

8. Are you afraid of needles?
I wouldn't say I am afraid but I do have to look away when they draw blood of give me a shot.

9. Do you get cranky when you’re tired or hungry?
Probably, don't most people. I am sure my husband will say yes.

10. Write your newest favorite recipe.
I actually haven't tried anything new lately, but I am always looking for new things to try.

Allergist Part Two

After blood work and a skin test we now know what Kelbie is allergic to. I am very happy that it was only one thing and that it wasn't the animals. Turns out she is allergic to Dust Mites. Simple right? Well yes but it is the most common and the hardest to get rid of. These are the things her Allergist recommends in order to make it better for her....

1. Remove all carpet... If you have seen my house, that is all there is expect in the bathrooms and kitchen :/
2. Don't use a humidifier (which we don't unless she is very congested)
3. Buy a hepa-filter for the ac as well as a hepa-filter vacuum
4. She recommends no Carpet Cleaning because it leave the carpets damp and muggy
5. Don't use a ceiling fan :( Unfortunately that isn't going to happen. I keep them on in every room except hers.
6. Purchase a dust mite protector for her pillow and mattress.

So in order to make her life easier it is going to take some time and money on our part. I have already purchased the mattress cover for her crib and when we move her to the daybed I will purchase one for that bed. My parents and us have discussed removing the carpet and are in the process of getting estimates for hard wood. I am leaning towards us just buying it form Home Depot and installing it ourselves. It is probably cheaper and my parents have done it before in our old house. Hoping to have the carpets removed and hardwood installed by the end of summer, beginning of fall.

Over all I am very happy with her allergist and everything she has done to help us get some answers. She wants us to do a follow up with her ENT and then a follow up with her in August. We have many things to discuss with her ENT some related to this and other with her ear. I am hoping for a healthy little one once she goes to school, but I know that just means a whole new set up things she can get sick with.

Ten on Tuesday

1. Who is your favorite talk show host?
There is no question about this answer. ELLEN. I love her show and even though sometimes I don't like her guest I still dvr her everyday.

2. How do you style your hair on a daily basis?
Well down or in a pony tail. Ever since I cut it a few months ago it doesn't seem to be growing fast enough and I just want my long hair back. So basically however I can get it to look somewhat normal in the morning is how I wear it.

3. If you were stuck in your bedroom for a week, what would you need in order to not go crazy?
Food of course, TV, Books, Magazines and my phone.

4. What are the best non-reality shows on television?
I have quite a few which we watch. To be honest we dont' watch much reality TV anymore. We always watch... NCIS, NCIS:LA, CSI, GRIMM, CSI:NY, NYC 22, LAST MAN STANDING, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, THE LYING GAME. These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I am sure there are more.

5. Do you mow your own lawn and clean your own house?
We sometimes mow our own lawn. I recently hired a lawn guy to take care of it for us since James's work hours are sometimes a little crazy. I on the other hand have to clean the house. I so wish we could afford a cleaning lady but they are a little to expensive for us.

6. As an adult, what is the best part of summer?
Since I know work for the school I get my summers off which is very nice. I look forward to spending time with Kelbie and knowing that I don't have to be anywhere at a certain time.

7. If you could ask one celebrity one question, who and what would you ask?
Umm...I dont' really have an answer for this. Not my favorite question on these things.

8. Post a picture.
I just posted this pic a couple weeks ago but it is still one of my favorites. I love how so is looking so serious as James talks to her. If only she would listen to me this way.

9. How many books do you read a year?
It depends. I have read about 3 so far this year. Sometimes I really get into reading and other times I find it very hard to find time to read. I just purchased some new books by an author I have gotten into so I am hoping to get started on them soon and I hopefully will find quite time this summer to read some books as well.

10. Which national chain makes the best delivery pizza?
I personally like Papa Johns. Something about their garlic dipping sauce just makes me want to eat their pizza more.

Allergist Part One

This past Wednesday I took Kelbie to see an Allergist in hopes of getting some answers as to what might be causing Kelbie to be sick so much. I might also add that Kelbie's pediatrician has never once mentioned this to me or anything and James and I decided to take it into our own hands and get some answers.

The doctor we saw was very nice. She was very into Kelbie's history, why we were there and what we can do to make it better. She checked her all out before discussing out options, in which she found that Kelbie had Sinusitis and prescribed and antibiotic to help clear it up. She didn't hear any wheezing so Asthma has pretty much been ruled out which is good. We talked about all the different allergy medicines we have tried, what has and hasn't worked and what she wanted us to try. Always interesting to hear what an Allergist has to say about medicines verse a Pediatrician (well maybe its just Kelbie's). She put her on Singular and I have seen a huge improvement since she started it two nights ago.

So on to the Allergy testing. We discussed the two different kinds and which one would be better. She first suggested blood work. It is the most accurate and takes about a week. Usually if the blood work comes back negative then there isn't a need to do another test. The second option is skin testing which is done in the office and takes about 20-30 minutes. It is brush type thing that kinda itches as it goes over her back. There are 8 different allergies on each brush and they do three different brushes, so 21 different allergens total. Once they scratch her back we wait about 20 minutes and if it welts up then she is allergic and if it doesn't she isn't. After talking about it we decided to do both and cover all the grounds we can. If all the allergies come back negative then our next step is to speak with her ENT (which we have an appointment with June 15 anyways) about having the glades that are behind her tonsils removed as that could be the cause of everything that has been going one.  We completed the blood work yesterday afternoon and go back next Wednesday for the skin test. So long story short we should have some sort of answer by the middle of next week.

I will post all of her results as soon as I get them. Praying to finally get the answers we so need right now.

Ten on Tuesday

1. What TV commercial do you think is the most annoying?
I think Taco Bells are pretty annoying. I know there is another one but I can't think of it right now.

2. What is the weirdest gift you have ever received?
I am not sure. I know that there was a very strange gift my brother got a long time ago from my aunt. He was like in his 20's and for his birthday my aunt sent him a Sponge Bob key chain from like McDonald's. I question what she was thinking at the time.

3. What is a song you thought you knew the words and then later found out you were wrong?
There are a few that I think I know the words and when I am singing them I discover that I don't.

4. What are you most looking forward to this month?
School being out so that I can spend my 10 week summer, relaxing and hanging out with Kelbie.

5. What is your favorite kitchen appliance? Explain.
Well, I don't cook much and when I do it is usually in the oven, stove, or microwave. I guess my favorite is the oven. You can cook just about anything in the oven and it usually doesn't take to long.

6. If you could have a gift card to anywhere right now, where would you choose? Why?
The question would be for how much?
$10- Sonic or Jamba Juice
$50- Carters for Kelbie
$100- Old Navy
$500- Kroger, Walmart, Target

7. What are your favorite pizza toppings?
Pepperoni, Sausage and Bell Peppers. We often get the meat lovers though because that is what James likes best.

8. Name something you’re thankful for aside from obvious answers (i.e. family, job, faith, etc.).
Air Conditioning, TV Shows, Parks, Etc.... Air Conditioning because I don't like to be hot. I could manage without it but I am thankful that I don't have to. TV Shows because they entertain Kelbie when she is fussy and they also give me something to watch when I am cleaning, waiting for James to get home, or just need some down time. Parks because I love to see the excitement on Kelbie's face when we pull up to a playground and she gets to run free.

9. What was your least favorite rule growing up?
Curfew... I can't remember every rule I had growing up but I got away with a lot that I am sure were rules but I didn't follow them. I wasn't a bad kid I just like to bend the rules and do things I shouldn't be doing.

10. If you could train your pet to do one thing, what would it be? Example, “Weego” from the Bud Light commercial.
Fetch me things. That sounds lazy but it sure would be nice when I am a busy and needed something if they could help me out. They are great dogs but they really aren't the smartest dogs.
