Halloween 2015

The kids were super excited that they got to go Trick or Treating with their cousins this year. Were were really hoping the monsoon weather would clear up and thankfully it did. We did get a few sprinkles while we were out but nothing we couldn't handle. Jaxon had a blast going up to the doors and saying Trick or Treat. He even did really well following the 1-2 candy rule at each house. He got a little tired at the end, took a little rest in the wagon and was good to go for the last couple of houses. Kelbie loved going with Trystan. They held hands and went up to almost every house together. She did slip pretty bad on the way back to Danny and Shannon's house and wouldn't put weight on her ankle for a little bit, but after an outfit change, some ice, some candy and getting to spend the night with her cousins, she was fine. I think it scared her more then anything. I am so proud of them for following the rules and listening while we were out and even now that Halloween is over, when they want candy they ask for their buckets and only eat the number of pieces I tell them they can have, then put their buckets back. They sure are growing up fast. Pictures from our day and night.

Jaxon picked out his own Halloween shirt this year.
Of course it was Paw Patrol

She didn't want him to give her a hug.

Robin and Batgirl to the rescue

He loved the mask. I was surprised since he hated when we first
got the costume.

Pumpkin Carving

This was the first year we actually carved pumpkins with the kids. Normally we buy the little characters that you just stick into them and call it a day. Kelbie seemed really into carving so we bought new carving kits and went to town on the kitchen floor. As you can tell James and I did all the work while the kids watched and fought over the carving tools (they shouldn't have been playing with anyway). It was fun and hopefully next year the kids will actually want to do more with it. The finish project was a Flying Cat and a scary face.

Apparently the saw was loud

I told her she had to at least touch the inside of the pumpkin

Community Helpers Parade

Every year Kelbie's school does a Community Helpers parade and then they get to see the Fire Truck, Police Car and Ambulance. Normally we aren't big on the dressing up for it, but this year she decided like 2 days before that she wanted to dress up. We went from a police officer, to a doctor, to a dance teacher, to a regular teacher and then to a nurse/doctor again. She wasn't satisfied with anything I could produce at home so the night before we happened to find this outfit for $12.99 and then went over to Target for the doctors kit. Might I add she hasn't touched either since that morning. She had fun doing the parade and getting to see the Fire Truck. The ambulance got called out so they didn't get to see that this year. I also loved how her whole class participated in dressing up this year. We are going to miss these little events next year.

Jaxon got to stay and watch the parade and see the fire truck too.
As you can tell he wasn't to thrilled with the picture idea.
